Without a doubt, Sparrow’s most faithful friend and companion, Rip has been with the Hero since childhood and has never left his side, but for brief periods where the absence could not be helped. He is unshakingly loyal, and possesses a talent for finding hidden objects, as well as an intuition that lets him know when someone needs his company, even if that person is not Sparrow.

Rip would defend his master to the death and indeed has done once before, when he was shot by Lucien while trying to keep Sparrow safe. How Sparrow regained his companion is unknown, since only two people saw the animal die, and one of those people is now also dead. The other is Sparrow, and he is not likely to reveal the secret.
